Emily Tonogai



Emily graduated from Carleton College in 2017 with her B.A. in Chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry. As an undergraduate, Emily received the Snyder Scholarship to perform research at UIUC with Dr. Steve Zimmerman, where she worked on the synthesis of RNA binders for the treatment of trinucleotide repeat diseases. She joined the Hergenrother group in the fall of 2017 as a Roger Adams Fellow. Her work focuses on the discovery of mutation-specific chemotherapeutics.
